Zach Goes Nuclear, Neate Draws Blood, and a Looming Toilet Bowl!
Welcome to the Week 4 edition of the Freddy Beach Baseball newsletter. If Week 3 was about a "turnaround," Week 4 was about total domination and a few managers showing us exactly how ruthless they can be. We have a new leader in the clubhouse, a manager who apparently "doesn't care," and a basement battle brewing that would make a landfill look like a five-star resort.
MASH Monster & Top Performers
The performance of the week belongs to Bro Bichette (Zach), who put up an absolutely staggering MASH of 83-23-4. After suffering through the "Dumpster Fire" just seven days ago, Kilby decided to set the entire league on fire instead. He led the league in Runs (51), Home Runs (18), AVG (.287), and ERA (2.91). Truly a "MASH-terpiece."
Other notable performers:
- TNTNT (Bruce and Joe): Posted a stellar 69-35-6 MASH.
- Welcome to the Jungle (Neate): Rode a 63-40-7 MASH to a dominant victory and the #1 spot overall.
Matchup Mayhem: The Official Results
- Welcome to the Jungle (Neate) went for the jugular and left chicksDigtheLongball (Luke) for dead 9-1-0.
- Bro Bichette (Zach) bullied the "indifferent" BaseOnBalls (Joel) 7-2-1.
- Ricky Vaughn (Forgy) handled the Bronx Bombers (Doug) 7-3-0.
- Staff Infection (Turg) took down The Beetle Bunch (Ben) 6-4-0.
- TNTNT (The Thompson Boys) edged out JOBU (Jordy) 5-3-2.
- Raleigh Caps (Garrett) escaped with a win against Handsy McNasty (Ads) 5-2-3.
Focus on the Big Stories: The Jugular and the "Whatever" Strategy
Neate Goes for the Jugular 🗡️
Coming off his 2025 last-place finish, Neate isn't just looking for redemption; he's looking for blood. In his matchup against The Commish (Luke), Neate reportedly "went for the jugular," starting a young arm late in the week to secure an extra category. It worked. A 9-1-0 demolition of the league's authority figure has propelled Neate into 1st place overall. From the basement to the penthouse—the Jungle is officially dangerous.
"I Don't Even Care" - The Walks Philosophy 🤷♂️
Word on the street is that Walks (Joel) has adopted a new strategy: clinical indifference. While Zach was busy putting up 18 home runs, Joel was busy... well, not caring. This "strategy" resulted in a 2-7-1 loss and has BaseOnBalls sitting in 10th place. If he doesn't start caring soon, he'll be the one providing the 2000g of chips and 100 beers at the 2027 draft.
The Homer Cup 🏆
The Homer Cup stays with the heavy hitters this week. Bro Bichette (Zach) takes the trophy home with an incredible 18 HRs. He narrowly edged out his opponent BaseOnBalls (Joel), who hit 17 but, as we established, probably doesn't mind losing the cup.
This Week's Hard Luck Award 😢
The award for statistical suffering goes to JOBU (Jordy). Hallett put up the 3rd best MASH in the league (64-39-7), a performance that would have beaten almost anyone else. Unfortunately, he ran into the TNTNT buzzsaw. Despite a great week on paper, Jordy walks away with a 3-5-2 loss. That's the H2H life: sometimes the schedule is your toughest opponent.
This Week's "Got Away With One" Award 🍀
The luckiest man in the league is Raleigh Caps (Garrett). G's team was decidedly average, posting a bottom-four MASH of 43-57-10. In most weeks, that's a one-way ticket to a blowout loss. However, he was matched up against the league's current Dumpster Fire, allowing him to stumble into a 5-2-3 victory. Take the wins where you can get them, G!
Dumpster Fire of the Week: Handsy's Heavy Hands 🔥
Handsy McNasty (Ads) takes the crown this week with a league-low MASH of 23-78-9. It was a rough week across the board, finishing last or second-to-last in R, AVG, ERA, and WHIP. After starting the season as a top performer in Week 1, Ads has hit a serious wall.
Standings Snapshot
The Jungle has a new King!

Looking Ahead: The Early Season Toilet Bowl 🚽
Keep your eyes on the bottom of the standings next week. We have an early-season Toilet Bowl matchup between The Beetle Bunch (Ben) and chicksDigtheLongball (Luke). With Ben in 12th and Luke in 11th, the stakes are high: the loser will be firmly entrenched in the basement, with quite the hole to dig themselves out of.
Good luck in Week 5!
