From Worst to First! Turg Completes Miracle Run, Crowned FBBL Champion!

The season is over. The dust has settled. And a new champion has risen from the ashes in one of the most improbable, incredible, and downright shocking runs in league history.

After clawing his way into the playoffs as the #7 seed, a manager with a long history of finishing last has reached the summit. Please join me in congratulating our 2025 Freddy Beach Baseball Champion, Staff Infection (Turg)!

It was a hard-fought battle to the very end. A massive congratulations are also in order for our runner-up, The Beetle Bunch (Benny), who built an offensive juggernaut that was the class of the league for much of the season.

The Final Battle: How the Championship Was Won

The championship week was a true clash of titans. Benny's team put on a spectacular power display, launching an incredible 14 home runs in a final, valiant effort to claim the crown. But in the end, it wasn't enough to overcome Turg's balanced attack and superior pitching.

Despite losing the home run category by a wide margin, Turg masterfully countered by winning the Runs and RBI battles, absorbing Beetle's biggest punch and firing back. The true difference was on the mound, where Turg's arms dominated most of the pitching categories. While Beetle's offense did its job, his pitching couldn't contain Turg's relentless squad, ultimately sealing his fate.

A Champion's Journey

Turg’s victory is more than just a win; it’s a legendary FBBL story. For a manager who, in years past, has been more familiar with the league’s basement than its penthouse, this season was a masterclass in determination. After a slow start, he worked the waiver wire and the trade market, slowly building a team that could compete. He scratched and clawed his way into the playoffs as the #7 seed, a team nobody wanted to face.

He told us all he was "Just Happy To Cheer," but as he tore through the #2, #6, and #4 seeds, it became clear he was playing for much more. From underdog to champion, it’s a season we won’t soon forget.
