The Underdog vs. The Juggernaut! Turg and Beetle Punch Their Tickets to the Ship!
The dust has settled on a wild semi-final week, and only two managers remain. After a season of ups and downs, shocking upsets, and dominant performances, the FBBL Championship is officially set. In one corner, we have the season-long offensive powerhouse who spent the early part of the year as the team to beat. In the other, the scrappy underdog took the unconventional way into the playoffs and is now riding a tidal wave of momentum.
One week. One winner. Let's get ready for the final battle.
The Road to the Finals: A Quick Recap
The semi-finals saw one of the biggest upsets of the year and the continuation of the Cinderella story that nobody saw coming.
In a stunning result, (4) The Beetle Bunch (Benny) took down the seemingly invincible #1 seed, Ricky Vaughn (Forgy). Beetle's powerhouse offense came alive at the perfect time, ending the juggernaut's season and punching his ticket to the finals, and taking his 5th Homer Cup π (with 12 dingers) en route,
Meanwhile, (7) Staff Infection (Turg) proved his run was no fluke, dominating the other Cinderella story in Bro Bichette (Zach) with a decisive 8-1-1 victory. Turg was also this week's MASH Monster, posting a league-best record of 53-10-7, absolutely peaking at the right time.

(4) The Beetle Bunch vs. (7) Staff Infection
This is a matchup months in the making, featuring two completely different journeys to the top.
The Beetle Bunch (Benny)
For a chunk of the early season, Ben was the undisputed king, sitting comfortably in first place. His team is a juggernaut, built on one of the most powerful offenses the league has ever seen. After a mid-season slumber, his bats have reawakened in the playoffs, and he's now just one win away from the title that seemed destined for him back in May.
Staff Infection (Turg)
Turg's season has been a masterclass in perseverance. After a slow start, he scratched, clawed, and masterfully worked the trade market to build a contender. He squeaked into the playoffs as the #7 seed and has been playing with house money ever since, knocking off the #2 and #6 seeds. He may have started the playoffs "Just Happy To Cheer," but now he has a chance to win the whole damn thing.
They split their season series, with Turg winning 5-4 in Week 7 and Beetle taking the rematch 7-3 in Week 18. Now, they meet for the title.
Tale of the Tape: A Clash of Titans
The Home Run Kings
Forget the rest of the league. This championship is a battle between the two most dominant power-hitting teams, and itβs not even close. Beetle leads the league with 279 HRs, and Turg is right behind him at 277. The next closest team is 38 homers behind. They've also dominated the weekly Homer Cup, with Turg winning 6 and Ben winning 5. Fireworks? Expect a laser show.

Meet the Rosters
Team Turg
His squad is led by the #1 player in fantasy, Aaron Judge, and a red-hot Julio Rodriguez (ranked 10th). His ace, Tarik Skubal (ranked 6th), is arguably the best pitcher in baseball, but a potential injury concern looms large over the finals. With a strong bullpen and surging arms like Trevor Rogers and Hunter Greene, Turg's team is firing on all cylinders.
Team Beetle
Ben's lineup is a murderer's row, featuring three top-10 players in Shohei Ohtani (#2), Kyle Schwarber (#4), and Bobby Witt Jr. (#7). Add in the ageless Freddie Freeman and the surprising stroke of Eugenio Suarez (45 HRs), and you have an offense that can win a week on its own. His pitching isn't as dominant, but with favorable matchups and some streaming luck, it might be all he needs.
What has happened all season means nothing now. It all comes down to one week. Good luck to both finalists! βοΈ
