DT Goes Supernova! Neate Wins the Battle, Loses the War! The FBBL Playoff Field is SET!

And that's a wrap on the regular season! Week 21 delivered all the drama we could have asked for. We saw a heroic, last-ditch effort to get into the playoffs, a monumental collapse from a one-time contender, and a dramatic conclusion to the race for the bottom. With the playoff matchups now set in stone, some teams are peaking at the perfect time, while others are limping into the postseason with zero momentum.

MASH Monsters & Top Performers

In the most crucial week of his season, one manager put the team on his back and willed them into the playoffs. The final MASH Monster crown of the regular season goes to Bronx Bombers (DT), who posted an absolutely incredible MASH of 77-26-7!

Also finishing the season with a bang were Handsy McNasty (Ads), who locked down the second-best MASH of 68-35-7, and Staff Infection (Turg), with the third-best MASH at 65-41-4.

Matchup Mayhem: The Final Regular Season Results

Here’s how the final week of head-to-head action shook out:

  • Bronx Bombers (Doug) annihilated TNTNT (The Thompson Boys) 9-0-1
  • Welcome to the Jungle (Neate) defeated JOBU (Jordy) 5-3-2 in a dramatic finale.
  • Bro Bichette (Zach) handled chicksDigtheLongball (Luke) 7-2-1
  • Raleigh Caps (G) took down The Beetle Bunch (Ben) 7-3
  • Handsy McNasty (Ads) got past BaseOnBalls (Joel) 5-4-1
  • Staff Infection (Turg) and Ricky Vaughn (Forgy) fought to a 5-5 tie

This Week's Homer Cup 🏆

The final Homer Cup of the regular season goes to The Beetle Bunch (Benny)! While it was a tough week for his squad otherwise, they still managed to launch a league-leading 15 long balls.

The Big Story: The Agony of Defeat

The "Judgment Week" matchup was everything we hoped it would be—a dramatic, down-to-the-wire affair. Welcome to the Jungle (Neate) did everything he could, securing a hard-fought 5-3-2 victory over his opponent, JOBU (Jordy). For a moment, it looked like a storybook escape from the league basement.

But in the cruelest twist of fate, the victory wasn't enough. Despite winning the final battle, Neate lost the season-long war. When the dust settled on the final standings, Neate remained in 12th place, just two games behind Jojo.

So, it's official: The last-place finisher for the 2025 season, who will be responsible for buying beer and chips for next year's draft, is Neate.

The Pizza Punishment

Consolation prizes are also in order! Responsible for supplying pizzas at next year's draft are our 9th, 10th, and 11th place finishers:

  • 9th Place: BaseOnBalls (Joel)
  • 10th Place: Handsy McNasty (Ads)
  • 11th Place: JOBU (Jordy)

This Week's Awards

Hard Luck Award 😢

This week's award goes to the #1 seed, Ricky Vaughn (Forgy). Forge's team had a solid week, posting the 4th-best MASH score. But he ran into a red-hot Turg squad that put up the 3rd-best MASH, forcing Forgy to settle for a 5-5 tie. It's a frustrating result when you're trying to roll into the playoffs with a dominant win, but it serves as a good reminder that anything can happen in a single week.

Luckiest Winner Award 🍀

The lucky charm this week goes to Raleigh Caps (Garrett). G's team had a decent but unspectacular week, posting the 6th-best MASH. Lucky for him, he was matched up against The Beetle Bunch, who completely fell apart and put up the second-worst MASH of the week. Garrett gladly took the 7-3 victory, capitalizing on a slumping opponent to lock up the #2 seed.

Dumpster Fire of the Week 🔥

This is one of the most shocking collapses we've seen. Just two weeks ago, they were riding a hot streak. This week, they were the biggest disaster in the league. The Dumpster Fire crown goes to TNTNT (The Thompson Boys), who completely imploded in the final week. They posted a league-worst MASH of 28-79-3 and were subsequently obliterated 0-9-1 by a playoff-hungry DT. It is the absolute worst way to enter the postseason.

Peaking or Valleying? Final Regular Season Power Pulse

  • Peaking (Hot) 🔥: Bronx Bombers (DT) is the definition of peaking. He delivered a MASH-winning, 9-0-1 blowout to steal the 8th and final playoff spot. He's the hottest team not named Forgy entering the playoffs.

  • Valleying (Cold) 🥶: TNTNT (The Thompson Boys) went from hot to laughingstock in one week. They are ice-cold and have to be questioning everything after that performance.

  • Peaking (Hot) 🔥: Staff Infection (Turg) is looking scary. He posted the 3rd best MASH and tied the #1 seed. He's a dangerous #7 seed.

  • Valleying (Cold) 🥶: chicksDigtheLongball (Luke) is in a full-blown crisis. He has been one of the worst statistical teams for three weeks straight and backed into the #3 seed with another lopsided loss.

Final Regular Season Standings

  • Ricky Vaughn (121-78-11)
  • Raleigh Caps (114-88-8)
  • chicksDigtheLongball (111-93-6)
  • The Beetle Bunch (107-90-13)
  • TNTNT (104-99-7)
  • Bro Bichette (99-99-12)
  • Staff Infection (97-101-12)
  • Bronx Bombers (95-102-13)
  • BaseOnBalls (Pizza Duty)

  • JOBU (Pizza Duty)
  • Welcome to the Jungle (Beer & Chips Duty)

FBBL Playoff Preview: Round 1!

The stage is set! Eight teams enter, but only four will survive the first round. Here’s a look at the quarter-final matchups.

  • (1) Ricky Vaughn vs. (8) Bronx Bombers

This is a classic tale of season-long dominance versus white-hot momentum. Forgy has been the class of the league all year, finishing first in the standings and leading all teams in Stolen Bases and Net Wins. He's also 2-0 against DT this year, winning decisively in both Week 19 (8-2) and Week 8 (7-3). But DT is coming off the best week of his season, posting the #1 MASH and a 9-0-1 beatdown to claw his way into this very spot. Can the Cinderella story continue, or will the clock strike midnight for the league's hottest team?

  • (4) The Beetle Bunch vs. (5) TNTNT

This matchup features two teams heading in opposite directions. Benny stumbled in the final week but boasts the most powerful offense in the league. He also won his only matchup against TNTNT this season (a close 5-4-1 battle back in Week 11). On the other side, the Thompson Boys are coming off a historic collapse, "winning" the Dumpster Fire award after looking like world-beaters just two weeks prior. Will Ben's bats wake up, or can TNTNT shake off the worst week of their season?

  • (3) chicksDigtheLongball vs. (6) Bro Bichette

The upset alert is flashing red on this one. Luke may be the higher seed, but he is entering the playoffs in a catastrophic slump, having posted some of the worst MASH scores in the league for three straight weeks. He claims "injuries", but excuses have no place in the playoffs. To make matters worse, he’s facing his personal kryptonite. Zach has absolutely owned the Commish this season, winning both matchups decisively (7-2-1 in Week 10 and 7-3 just last week in Week 21). Killer's team is a pitching powerhouse—leading the league in ERA, WHIP, and K/9, and is a close second in the other categories—and seems to have a massive psychological edge.

  • (2) Raleigh Caps vs. (7) Staff Infection

This could be the most intriguing matchup of the first round. G quietly put together a fantastic season to earn the #2 seed. He's consistent and his team is solid across the board. However, he's facing a dangerous Turg squad that is peaking at the right time, coming off a week where he posted the 3rd-best MASH and tied the #1 seed. Most importantly, in their only meeting this season (Week 11), Turg dismantled G 6-3-1. Does Turg have G's number, or will the #2 seed prove his season-long performance was no fluke?
