Killer's Killing Spree! Forgy Gets Back On Track as Playoff Picture Sharpens!
Welcome to Week 19! With only a couple of weeks left until the playoffs begin, the pressure is officially on. This week saw some absolutely monstrous performances as teams jockey for position, while others are simply trying to avoid the dreaded last-place finish and the beer-and-chips duty that comes with it. Let's dive in!
MASH Monsters & Top Performers
The MASH crown this week goes to a manager hitting his stride at the perfect time. A massive congratulations to Bro Bichette (Killer), who laid waste to the league with a dominant MASH of 87-21-2! It was a truly spectacular week.
Also putting up huge numbers were Ricky Vaughn (Forgy), who posted the second-best MASH of 73-31-6, and BaseOnBalls (Walks), who secured the third-best MASH with a strong 67-36-7.
Matchup Mayhem: The Official Results
Here’s how the Week 19 head-to-head battles shook out:
- Bro Bichette (Zach) crushed BaseOnBalls (Joel) 7-2-1
- Ricky Vaughn (Forgy) dismantled Bronx Bombers (Doug) 8-2
- The Beetle Bunch (Benny) stomped JOBU (Jojo) 9-1
- TNTNT (The Thompson Boys) defeated Handsy McNasty (Ads) 7-3
- chicksDigtheLongball (Luke) edged Raleigh Caps (G) 6-4
- Welcome to the Jungle (Neate) beat Staff Infection (Jer) 5-4-1
Homer Cup 🏆
In a week filled with power, one team stood above the rest. The Homer Cup goes to Bro Bichette (Zach), whose squad blasted an incredible 16 home runs! This offensive explosion not only secured him the MASH Monster title but also this coveted weekly award. Well done, Killer!
Focus on the Big Stories: Playoff Push Takes Shape
- Forgy back on track: After a wobble last week, Forgy bounced back with the #2 MASH and a dominant 8-2 win to strengthen his grip on the top seed.
- Beetle building momentum: A 9-1 thrashing pushes Ben back into the conversation for a top-two finish after stabilizing in recent weeks.
- Killer’s surge continues: Zach’s late-season heater makes him a true dark horse no one wants to face in the first round.
This Week's Hard Luck Award 😢
This one's for BaseOnBalls (Joel). Walks put up the 3rd-best MASH in the entire league, a performance that would typically guarantee a win. His reward? A matchup against the MASH Monster himself, Zach, who was simply on another planet this week. Sometimes you just run into a buzzsaw.
This Week's "Got Away With One" Award 🍀
This week's lucky charm is awarded to chicksDigtheLongball (Luke). In a battle of who could perform worse, the Commish emerged victorious. Luke's squad posted the 3rd-worst MASH of the week (41-65-4). A performance that pathetic almost always results in a loss. But his opponent, Raleigh Caps (G), managed to be even more dreadful, putting up the 2nd-worst MASH. Luke gladly accepted the 6-4 win, proving that sometimes you don't have to be good, you just have to be slightly less terrible than the other guy. Not a great showing for either of the league's top teams as the regular season comes to an end.
Dumpster Fire of the Week 🔥
Oh, Jordy. This week's biggest train wreck belongs to JOBU (Jordy). He posted an absolutely abysmal MASH of 24-81-5, worst in the league by a country mile, and was walloped 9-1 in H2H. A week to forget for Jojo, who’s tiptoeing toward beer-and-chips duty.
Playoff Power Tiers
With just a few weeks left, here's how the league is shaping up as we head down the final stretch.
The Favorites
(Teams with a real shot at the title)
- Ricky Vaughn (Forgy): Sitting in first place with the week’s #2 MASH. The team to beat.
- chicksDigtheLongball (Luke): Holding strong in 2nd and keeps finding category wins.
- The Beetle Bunch (Ben): Quiet contender surging again; a 9-1 win proves he’s dangerous.
- Raleigh Caps (G): Rough week, but still 4th with a roster that can beat anyone.
The Contenders
(In the playoffs, but need to stay sharp)
- TNTNT (The Thompson Boys): Solid week keeps them firmly in 5th.
- Bro Bichette (Zach): This week’s MASH king looks like a legit dark horse.
- Staff Infection (Turg): Hanging on; needs a strong finish to avoid an early exit.
- BaseOnBalls (Joel): Performance is there despite the L; clinging to the final spot.
The Outsiders
(On the outside looking in, praying for a miracle)
- Handsy McNasty (Ads): In 9th; likely safe from catering the draft next year, but will need to be both good and lucky from here on out.
- Bronx Bombers (Doug): In 10th; in unfamiliar territory this late in the season, Doug needs a late heater to have a shot at sneaking in.
The Beer & Chips Brigade
(The battle to avoid last place is officially on)
- JOBU (Jordy): After this week’s Dumpster Fire, pressure is mounting.
- Welcome to the Jungle (Neate): In the cellar; every single category matters now.
