Commish Impresses, Neate disappoints, Others Set Their Sights on the Postseason! Post-Deadline Push Begins in Wild Week 18!

The trade deadline has officially passed, and the rosters are set for the final stretch! Week 18 immediately showed us who might be regretting their moves and who is primed for a playoff run. The biggest story was the absolute beatdown at the top of the standings, as the once-comfortable #1 seed was left in shambles, tightening the race for the regular season crown.

MASH Monsters & Top Performers

This week's MASH crown goes to Handsy McNasty (Ads), who put together a stellar performance and posted a league-best MASH of 74-27-9. Right on his heels was Bronx Bombers (Doug), who also had a monster week, finishing with the second-best MASH of 73-28-9. These two were in a class of their own this week!

Homer Cup 🏆

This week's Homer Cup goes to The Beetle Bunch (Benny), whose squad mashed an incredible 16 home runs to narrowly defeating chicksDigTheLongBall (Luke) by a single dinger.

Matchup Mayhem: The Official Results

Here's how the Week 18 head-to-head battles shook out:

  • chicksDigtheLongball (Luke) absolutely demolished Ricky Vaughn (Forgy) 9-0-1!
  • Handsy McNasty (Ads) took down Raleigh Caps (G) in a heavyweight bout, 6-4.
  • The Beetle Bunch (Ben) defeated Staff Infection (Turg) 7-3.
  • Bronx Bombers (DT) handled JOBU (Jordy) 5-3-2.
  • BaseOnBalls (Joel) got past TNTNT (The Thompson Boys) 6-4.
  • Bro Bichette (Kilby) beat Welcome to the Jungle (Neate) 7-2-1.

Focus on the Big Stories: A Collapse at the Top!

Forgy's First-Place Freefall

Entering the week with a comfortable lead in first place, Ricky Vaughn (Forgy) had one of the worst single-week performances in recent memory. He was systematically dismantled by chicksDigtheLongball (The Commish) in a 9-0-1 thrashing. This catastrophic week has blown the race for first place wide open.

Deadline Deals: Will the Gambles Pay Off?

The trade deadline saw a flurry of activity as managers made their final bets for the playoff push. With rosters now locked, the question is: who made the right moves? Several teams are sporting new-look lineups, and this week is the first big test as the season winds down. As some teams soared and others stumbled, we'll be watching closely to see which GMs look like geniuses and which ones will be regretting their deals as we head towards the postseason.

This Week's Hard Luck Award 😢

The Hard Luck Award for Week 18 goes to Raleigh Caps (G). While trying to chase down the #1 spot, Garrett ran into a buzzsaw. His team posted a very strong MASH of 64-34-12, the fourth-best in the league this week. Unfortunately, his opponent was the MASH Monster himself, Handsy McNasty (Ads), who posted the week's best record. It's a tough pill to swallow when you have a great week but still take the L.

This Week's "Got Away With One" Award 🍀

This week's lucky charm is awarded to BaseOnBalls (Joel). Walks put up a decidedly mediocre performance, finishing with a losing MASH record of 50-54-6. A week like that usually results in a loss, but lucky for him, he drew an even colder TNTNT (Bruce / Joe) squad. Joel was able to capitalize on the favorable schedule and sneak out a 6-4 victory that he probably didn't deserve.

Dumpster Fire of the Week: Ricky Vaughn's Historic Collapse 🔥

There is no other choice. This award belongs to Ricky Vaughn (Forgy). After being the man to beat most of the season, Forgy’s team imploded in spectacular fashion. He posted a truly horrific MASH of 10-98-2—yes, you read that right—on his way to getting humiliated 0-9-1 by Luke. It was a complete and utter system failure and one of the most shocking single-week collapses from a first-place team we have ever seen. His team was a no-show across the board, finishing last in ERA, WHIP, K/9, Net Wins, and Net Saves/Holds. Welcome to the fire, Forgy.

Standings Snapshot

The top of the league is now dangerously close!

  1. Ricky Vaughn (101-68-11) – Forgy clings to first by a thread!
  2. chicksDigtheLongball (100-75-5) – The Commish is now just one game back!
  3. Raleigh Caps (98-74-8) – G is lurking right behind, only three games out.
  4. The Beetle Bunch (92-75-13) – Ben is quietly still in contention.

That's all for Week 18! The race is on, and every category counts from here on out.

Good luck in Week 19! ☘️
