All-Star Slugfest! G Takes #1, Turg Takes the Homer Cup, Standings Shuffle!

Welcome back from the extended All-Star break! The extra-long Week 15 gave teams plenty of time to rack up some massive stats, leading to some of the most lopsided H2H blowouts of the season. And while the standings didn't completely flip on their head, the movement at the very top was critical, crowning a new king as we head into the final stretch of the season!

MASH Monsters & Top Performers

The long week clearly agreed with a few managers who put up video game numbers. The MASH crown for Week 15 goes to Bronx Bombers (Doug), who posted an absolutely incredible MASH of 83-23-4! Also having a monster week was BaseOnBalls (Joel) with the second-best MASH of 70-34-6, and Handsy McNasty (Ads) rounded out the top three with a strong MASH of 66-36-8.

• The Beetle Bunch (Ben) and chicksDigtheLongball (Luke) fought to a 5-5 TIE!
• Bro Bichette (Zach) and Ricky Vaughn (Forgy) also ended in a 5-5 TIE!
• Handsy McNasty (Ads) defeated Staff Infection (Turg) 6-4

All-Star Homer Cup Slugfest 🏆

The extended All-Star break brought a serious power surge across the league, but when the dust settled, a familiar face stood alone atop the home run throne. A special congratulations goes out to Staff Infection (Turg), who claims his incredible 6th "Homer Cup" of the season by mashing an amazing 24 home runs! He needed the tiebreaker to secure the crown, as Bronx Bombers (Doug) also had a monster week with 24 dingers of his own. The 20+ homer club was crowded this week, with The Beetle Bunch (Ben) and Ricky Vaughn (Forgy) also getting in on the action with an impressive 23 homers each. Still, Turg takes home the hardware, further cementing his team as the one to beat in the power department.

A New King is Crowned! 👑

The most significant outcome of the week was the change at the top. With his solid 7-2-1 victory, Raleigh Caps (Garrett) has officially leapfrogged the competition to take over the #1 spot in the standings! Forgy's tie wasn't enough to hold him off, and Garrett's consistent excellence has finally put him on the throne.

Standings Stagnation? Not at the Top 📈

While many teams in the middle of the pack held their ground, the jockeying for position among the contenders was fierce. G's jump to #1 and Forgy's subsequent slip to #2 is a massive development. Elsewhere, The Beetle Bunch used his tie to climb back into the top 4, and the Commish held steady at #3, creating a very clear top tier as the playoff push intensifies.

This Week's Hard Luck Award 😢

This week's award goes to our now former #1, Ricky Vaughn (Forgy). Forgy's team had a strong week, posting the 5th-best MASH (60-43-7). But in a tough head-to-head battle, he could only manage a 5-5-0 tie against Bro Bichette. That single lost point in the standings was all it took to lose his grip on the top spot, making this a particularly tough pill to swallow.

This Week's "Got Away With One" Award 🍀

This week's lucky charm goes to chicksDigtheLongball (Luke, The Commish). The Commish's squad had a rough go of it, posting the 9th-best MASH (a subpar 43-61-6). A performance like that against most of the league would have resulted in a clear loss. However, he was fortunate enough to be matched up against another struggling team in The Beetle Bunch (7th-best MASH), allowing him to escape the week with a 5-5-0 tie. That result feels more like a win when you consider how poorly his team performed overall.

Dumpster Fire of the Week: Welcome to the Jungle's Welcome Mat 🔥

While a few teams struggled this week, the Dumpster Fire crown belongs to Welcome to the Jungle (Neate). He posted the worst MASH of the week (a dismal 25-79-6) and was subsequently annihilated 1-9 by the MASH-leading Bronx Bombers. It was a complete beatdown that sees Neate sink even further into the league cellar.
