Focus on the Second Half Push: Key Stories from Week 13
The Commish is on Fire
We have to start with Luke's incredible hot streak. After winning the MASH crown last week, the Commish followed it up with another dominant #1 MASH performance (82-23-5). This fueled a decisive 7-3 victory, powered by top-3 league-wide MASH finishes in an astounding six categories (Runs, Home Runs, RBI, Average, WHIP, and Net Wins). While he's been holding steady in the top half of the standings for a few weeks now, back-to-back performances of this caliber have solidified his position at #5 and sent a clear message to the top four: he is a serious championship threat.
Garrett Crashes Back to Earth
What a difference a week makes! After weeks of MASH dominance and climbing to #1 overall, Raleigh Caps (Garrett) completely imploded. The new team name did not bring new luck, as his squad put up the week's worst MASH and lost 3-5-2, causing him to slip to 3rd in the standings. It's a harsh reminder of how quickly fortunes can change in this league.
Turg is a Legitimate Threat
This is no longer a feel-good story; it's a legitimate trend. Staff Infection (Turg) put up another top-3 MASH and cruised to a 6-3-1 victory, along with yet another Homer Cup. He is now firmly in 6th place with a winning record and looks like one of the most dangerous teams heading into the second half.
Hard Luck & A Heist: The Story of One Matchup 😢
This week's tough-luck trophy goes to JOBU (Jordy). It's one thing to lose to a powerhouse, but it's another to fall to a team that actually had a worse week on paper. Jordy's squad posted a respectable MASH (8th best), yet still dropped the matchup 3-7 to TNTNT (Thompson Boys)—who managed only the second-worst MASH of the week. Losing to an opponent who struggled even more statistically is a tough pill to swallow.
On the flip side, the lucky charm award belongs to TNTNT (Thompson Boys). Despite a rough MASH line (40-63-7), they pulled off a 7-3 upset over JOBU. Sometimes, all it takes is getting hot in just the right categories at the right time. The Thompson Boys snatched a win they probably shouldn't have—a textbook fantasy baseball heist!
Dumpster Fire of the Week: Raleigh Caps' Collapse 🔥
This one had to hurt. After a meteoric rise to the #1 spot, Raleigh Caps (Garrett) decided to celebrate by rebranding his long-held "Air Yordan" squad. The result? An immediate and dramatic collapse. Was it overconfidence, or did the new team name bring a curse? Whatever the reason, Garrett’s team crashed back to Earth, posting the week’s worst MASH (25-75-10) and dropping his H2H matchup 3-5-2. The struggles were across the board, with dead-last finishes in Runs, Home Runs, and Average. A stunning fall from grace earns Garrett this week’s Dumpster Fire crown.
Standings Snapshot
The race for the top is tighter than ever!
- #1: Ricky Vaughn (72-50-8) — Forgy holds the top spot!
- #2: TNTNT (72-53-5) — The Thompson Boys jump to #2.
- #3: Raleigh Caps (71-52-7) — Garrett's rough week drops him to 3rd.
- #12: Welcome to the Jungle (50-74-6) — Neate returns to his comfortable spot in the basement after briefly escaping last week.
That's the wrap for Week 13! The second half is officially underway, and the pressure is on.
Good luck in Week 14! 🍀
