We've officially crossed the halfway point of the regular season, and the league continues to deliver incredible drama! This week featured a heavyweight battle of MASH monsters, the continued tumble of our former #1.

MASH Monsters & Top Performers

It was a huge week for BaseOnBalls (Joel), who separated himself from the pack with the top MASH of the week, at 64-38-8! Right behind him in a monster week of their own was Handsy McNasty (Ads), posting the second-best MASH of 63-41-6. And climbing up the ranks, Welcome to the Jungle (Neate) put everyone on notice with the third-best MASH of 60-42-8.

Beetle's Freefall is Real

The slide continues for our former undisputed #1. The Beetle Bunch (Ben) fell 2-6-2 against Air Yordan. Ben's team posted the second worst MASH of the week (30-71-9). After weeks of dominance, this two-week collapse has seen him tumble from #1 clear down to 4th place overall. The magic appears to have run out for now. Is the panic button being pressed?

A New King in the North!

While Ricky Vaughn (Forgy) lost a tight 4-5-1 matchup to the giant-killing Turg, his overall body of work recently coupled with Beetle's collapse have vaulted him into the #1 spot in the standings! It's a testament to consistency, proving you don't have to win every week to climb the ladder.

The matchup of the week was a battle between the two top MASH performers. BaseOnBalls (Joel) (#1 MASH) and Handsy McNasty (Ads) (#2 MASH) put on a clinic against the league average. But in the H2H battle, it was Ads who found the right category wins to take home a 6-4 victory in a true clash of titans.

This Week's Hard Luck Award 😢

This is as clear-cut as it gets. The award goes to BaseOnBalls (Joel). To put up the best performance against the entire league with a stellar MASH of 64-38-8, only to lose his head-to-head matchup. This is the very definition of Hard Luck. A fantastic week on paper undone by running into the week's other monster MASH performance.

This Week's "Got Away With One" Award 🍀

Let's give this to Staff Infection (Turg). After his incredible surge, Turg had a more pedestrian MASH this week (9th, 50-56-4). Yet, he managed to pull out a 5-4-1 H2H victory over the new #1 in the standings, Ricky Vaughn, who had a better MASH (6th, 54-53-3). Turg continues to find ways to get wins, solidifying his new identity as a dangerous spoiler.

Dumpster Fire of the Week: The Commish Craters 🔥

While Beetle had the worst MASH, it's hard to overlook the truly abysmal performance from chicksDigtheLongball (Luke). Luke's squad posted the worst MASH of the week (a horrifying 22-80-8) and got decisively beaten 3-7 by Bro Bichette. It was a complete failure, with his team ranking dead last in a number of categories. After a huge Week 8, this is a spectacular crash back to Earth for the Commish.
